Buena Vista Residence

Oakland Hills,   CA

This modern house was designed for a family with two teen-aged kids, and extended family that visits often.

The Living room (pictured left at twilight) is a two-story volume with a huge window which takes in views of the Bay Area.

The clients wanted to recreate their SF modenr house, a SOMA loft which had tall spaces, large windows and an open plan--these attributes were recreated in the main wing. The other wing contains the bedrooms. Exterior materials are smooth stucco, recessed aluminum silver windows, and a concrete podium.
