Berkeley Hills House

Berkeley , Alameda County, California

This Berkeley home was designed for a couple who had their first child, then their second, and finally their third, during the course of design and construction of this fine Berkeley home.  The site is rare double lot which is situated at where the flat streets begin to become more steep.

The front elevation of the house responds to the street context.  The tall mass on the right is similar to the neighborhood where small houses on small frontages close to the street.  The house begins to step back away from the to respond to the tall white house which is set back signicantly from the street.
